Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

⚠️ URGENT ACTION ALERT TO STOP ANTI-IMMIGRANT BILL ⚠️

✨Call your Senators via the Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121
✨Once you're connected, say: "Hello, I am a constituent, and I urge the Senator to vote NO on the Laken Riley Act."
✨After you're done, ask 3 of your friends to call
The Laken-Riley Act will lead to many more people being detained without access to bond and will have a disproportionate impact of Black and brown immigrants. DWN demands that Congress reject this bill. Learn more about why we oppose this bill from @nilc.org. 2/2
NILC Opposes the Laken Riley Act
The Laken Riley Act exploits personal tragedy to fuel anti-immigrant rhetoric and undermines constitutional protections without improving public safety.

It never ceases to disappoint me how much of the immigration debate is obsessed with how to prevent people from moving and so little attention on how to build a better world that doesn’t harm people and displace people at such a massive rate. Perspective matters.

Argued a case in the Second Circuit on Friday, asking the court to revisit a prior agency decision in light of Loper Bright. Interestingly (but maybe not surprisingly because it was an immigration case), the one Trump appointee was the most hostile to revisiting agency precedent #AppellateSky 1/
