She didn’t want to know. Doesn’t want to know, never did want to know but how can she not know?
How can she not know when every part of their souls was once intertwined so deeply it’d been impossible to know where one ended and the other began? How can she not know that something has changed, that it is all different, that what they had is gone?
That this person might look like her and smile like her and talk almost just the same but it isn't her.
It isn't.
Vi knows this isn't Caitlyn, but she doesn't know if she's strong enough to let her go.
