I have no idea who has said what but thank you to you and to all the sudden new followers. I will do my best to make it worth your while and will be going back to full time art stuff in the coming months. Meanwhile, here’s some of what I do…

Colours on the Alien and Predator pieces by Simon Gough!

Next week myself, @tristansbones.bsky.social and @pipmartin.bsky.social are taking you to HELL

Event Horizon: Dark Descent #2 out from @idwpublishing.com next Wednesday

Quick heads up for folks: I have no idea what the schedule is so far, but I'll be at NYCC next week signing at the IDW booth and then just wandering around in general! Literally a decade since I was last at one of these things, so if anyone's got anything the want signed, bring it along and say hi!

Were you also present to boo the Fuck My Son guy off stage yesterday??

Also, my only twitter flex is that Friedkin followed and chatted to me once about The Guardian. Absolute legend.

Always had a soft spot for Event Horizon and got to read first two issues of the prequel comic Dark Descent by @cjward.bsky.social & @tristansbones.bsky.social Good, creepy, horrible stuff this.

I was lucky enough to get a chance to read the first two issues of Event Horizon: Dark Descent by Christian Ward and Tristan Jones and I highly recommend it. Tense, riveting and scary. Can’t ask for more. Check it out! @cjward.bsky.social @tristansbones.bsky.social

I know heaps who do, it’s just not for me.

This is what I mean — this show could’ve been more interesting incorporating the corporate ideas and synth stuff from Pro/AC. And absolutely agree on the latter points
tristansbones.bsky.social
All of the points both of you have made. 1000000%

It's the hybrids and everything around them and focusing on them... and the unfortunate choice to zero the alien in on Wendy, whose entire powerset just makes zero sense and becomes more baffling at every turn. Morrow blackmailing that one kid? GREAT. The rest? Ball and chain to my eyes.
tristansbones.bsky.social
Really hard to argue against. The snippets with Kirsh were all I was in it for after.
tristansbones.bsky.social
I don't hate it, I just really don't like it. There are so many great ideas that really get to the heart of what makes it all interesting, but then there's exactly what you've brought up among other issues in the same direction
tristansbones.bsky.social
I didn't even want that to be honest -- I was hoping there'd be some more intelligent use of the alien. I love those little seeds from Prometheus and Covenant that Romulus managed to weave back into the core lore, and not that this show needs to slave to that, but THAT angle is more interesting.
tristansbones.bsky.social
Yeah, I feel like you're gonna want all those minutes back if you couldn't get into it and try again. There's good stuff in all of it, but not enough, and the stuff that focuses on the alien itself barely makes sense.
tristansbones.bsky.social
I wouldn't go so far to say that Romulus was dog shit. The stuff that's genuinely honest to the originals is great, but the alien itself looks terrible every time it's on screen, and every episode is so loaded with contrivances that betray what's honest.
tristansbones.bsky.social
I really hate that I don't like Alien Earth at fuckin' all.

Kirsh is rad.

Morrow is rad.

The new aliens are rad.

The industrial politics are rad.

But not only is the titular alien aggressively the least interesting thing about it, it's become the worst thing every time it's on screen.

14 years ago, I was approached by Ruben Fleischer to do some previs & story work on Ghostbusters 3. Harold Ramis passed; we bailed on it. I got that gig because of how I drew this ugly spud.

Now I'm back in comics, I might have pull out the stories I had approved at IDW but never got published...

Craziest page I've ever drawn's in this thing, too!

We’re two weeks away from @idwpublishing.com ‘s Event Horizon: Dark Descent #2 by myself , @tristansbones.bsky.social & @pipmartin.bsky.social

It’s the issue in which Paimon ( our King of Hell ) makes his appearance so I thought it’d be fun to share my intial designs of him done for the pitch
