No one makes this gesture by accident, twice. He knew exactly how this would be taken, so any “context” he offers (or is forced to offer by Trump who’s no doubt seething at being outshone) can undo it.
His signal was sent, the right (in both senses) people saw & understood it.

I'm too old to have a "battle jacket". I've got a "battle hoodie".
It's a rework in progress, I'm waiting for other patches to get to me and it'll get swapped around a few times but ya know... ya reach an age where comfort is just as cool as "street cred" (if the kids even say that anymore...)
