Germany was unified, gradually, and is more of a real hybrid of East and West Germany, than what occurred in OTL, with political neutrality towards the US and USSR, and counterbalanced France in Europe, however since the collapse of the PRC, there's been a growing Franco/German alliance. 20/20

This has unfortunately led to a more united conservative front politically, but however more positively also influenced a growing multiethic, and multicultural perception of French national identity in public discourse. Though some worry they're headed to a 7th Republic. 19/20

Ride becomes an important spokesperson for Milk's perminent Mars base initiative, as well as promoting education initiatives, and becoming director of NASA, with a joit mandate along with the NSF of even greater public outreach. 9/20

Looping back to Glenn, to complete the circle, one of the things that greatly helps Milk is his convincing of astronaut Sally Ride to come out of the closet, and highlighting the contributions of LGBT individuals in NASA as well as science and technology in general. 8/20

This of course sets the stage for a later Milk presidency, 20 years on, as Harvey Milk (who lives), cements himself in that as a popular political figure and national leader, while also focusing on "kitchen table" civic issues popular with working and middle class Americans. 7/20

When Glenn faces the AIDS crusis, his response is basically the complete opposite of Reagan, which only cements his science and technology buildup, and brings various Queer rights groups and causes to the center stage nationally, and later globally. 6/20

John Glenn only takes what MLK did further in the 80s, also being something of a "celebrity president" (like Reagan), and leaning into his astronaut background on the campaign trail. With a more stable 80s, jumpsuits as fashion items become part of a popular "asto chic" fashion trend. 5/20

MLK really gets to be the "president of the future". Not just with the domes, his food programs created and popularized adorable "no-prep" foods (usually actually bars or powdered mixes), and his enthusiasm for space (a la Star Trek) cements, rather than cuts Nasa funding. 2/20
