Johanna Baxter serves the financiers that pay her husband and the Labour party, she doesn't serve anyone else.

– Baxter was formerly elected onto Labour’s NEC (National Executive Committee) on a right wing slate. – Baxter’s husband Mark Glover is a lobbyist at SEC Newgate whose clients include private water company Anglian Water, an alliance of London landlords, and various property developers and venture capital firms. – Mark Glover is also Vice Chair of SME4Labour, who have donated funds to Baxter. – Baxter voted to keep the two-child benefit cap. – Prior to the general election, Baxter promised WASPI women would receive fair compensation; she now supports the government policy of not providing any compensation. – She voted in favour of the cuts to disability benefits (1.7.25), described as a “sham of a bill“, and which despite concessions, is still a £2bn cut to UC affecting 750k new claimants. – She chose not to sign the July 2025 letter by parliamentarians calling on the Foreign Secretary to enforce sanctions on Israel. – Baxter abstained on the vote to proscribe Palestine Action, a move described as ‘a disturbing legal overreach‘ by Amnesty International. – She was part of the Labour Growth Group which backs an urgent rollout of a UK digital ID system and the sidelining of biodiversity considerations for big building projects, which attracted criticism from wildlife conservationists. – Baxter did not back the motion to introduce an annual wealth tax. - He's revealed the Israel one bc he knows he must "tack left" as he has said himself, to win a leadership election (and his seat).
- He's using the opportunity to dig at Starmer and Reeves, again, it's all about becoming PM.
