There’s a lot more meat to a story than just “here’s how the setting works. Here are some guys who existed a hundred years ago but we never get to see.” Most people do not care about that as much as they care about Blorbo Who Made Them Cry.

It also does not help that many people don’t seem to understand the difference between lore and like. The actual narrative. They get used synonymously despite the fact that liking something’s lore is completely different from liking something’s story.

I do think this is one of the areas where original HK is better, but I appreciate the Hollow Knight series’s dedication to giving you the option to play the game like a little freak.

Feels like an important thing to say today. Diagnoses are rising due to better scientific understanding and changing diagnostic techniques. Not because of tylenol or vaccines or whatever.

Autistic people are rad and the conservative push to find “causes” for autism is clearly rooted in hatred and eugenics. It’s incredibly dangerous and anti-science.

Metroidvanias are either Protestant or Catholic. Castlevania? Catholic, of course. Metroid? Protestant. Blasphemous is Catholic. Dead Cells, Protestant.

Hollow Knight is Protestant, but Hollow Knight: Silksong is Catholic. That's why people are complaining the game is hard. Cause it's Catholic now.

It’s nice that Toby is bringing so much attention to all the work for Undertale that was done by other people. A lot of people have a tendency to pretend that Toby did Literally Everything, when that is very much not true. Especially on the visual side of things.

Considering that they mentioned Suikoden they seem to think you meant second biggest JRPG franchise under a Japanese company *in general*, and not Nintendo specifically. It probably is Nintendo’s second biggest JRPG franchise, although admittedly I don’t know how its sales compare to the Mario RPGs.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.
