My version of Haurchefant is also very personal, while trying to maintain his canon personality. But since we don't have too much on him as a character, I get to be a lot more creative with his (or rather my) headcanon.

She asked Y'shtola to teach her CNJ after having Haurchefant die in her arms. The feeling of being so helpless and useless in a situation like that motivated her to learn to heal. She eventually also learned from Urianger and Alphinaud.

She was already okay with a bow, seeing as she is a hunter, but Aymeric taught her to become an actual archer in the style of Ishgard (meaning proficient in felling giant beasts and focused on arial combat etc).
