yes they are loads of fun (although being written in the '80's and early '90s there is some 'product of it's time' stuff reading it these days - much like WoT as well)

And yes, some similar themes, even stuff becoming the basis for myth & legends and our current folklore.

Currently rereading Julian May's 'Saga of the Exiles' & 'Galactic Milieu' Series for the umpteenth time

After just having finished another reread of 'Wheel of Time', of course

Alanna Sedai - down for fun, but willing to be serious when the fight is on.

Good luck - I can't read before bed, personally, I always end up "just 1 more chapter"-ing it and then get no sleep.

Definitely waiting to see if she would get out of it - she had such a disappointed look when she walked off.

That would be my guess - they took memories (but not the ones he was referring too) so before his head was overfull of memories and now with some of his current life memories taken away he has room for the battle memories without them overwhelming him

Oh, well there goes that theory then

Didn't one of the Ash'a'man do it by himself when Perrin was forging his hammer or am I remembering that wrong?
April 21, 2025 at 4:43 AM
Yeah, I read that after I replied (and I'm fine with just letting it go personally) - but, if we want to theory-craft around a continuity error so it makes sense in-show - Rand accidently doing more to his blade than just heating it up - could be a good explanation

How was the power-wroughting (?) done in the books - could Rand have accidently power-wrought his blade when he set it on fire (maybe that wasn't just fire he was weaving) before stabbing Ishy?

If you're interested, there are some animated shorts that explain some of the world-building that come alongside S1 that I think help a lot too - they can be a bit tricky to find depending on the device your watching on but they should be somewhere under the X-ray section

It's his opinion - doesn't necessarily make it truth. I guess the better question is - how did Alanna navigate the Ways?
April 17, 2025 at 11:40 AM
No, anybody can use the ways as long as they can either channel (like Moiraine, Liandrin in S1 & 2) or have a key (Loial S3) to open it up
April 17, 2025 at 6:28 AM
they went through The Ways - Perrin notices when they exit that a man and woman went through before them and he could smell ashes (Ihvon's, that Alanna puts on her face)

I wonder with Sanderson being listed as an exec producer (even if in name only) whether they'd get away with cutting Androl

(but they totally should)
April 17, 2025 at 1:31 AM
Or they could have Pevara & Logain bond each other instead of Logain's creepy non-con bonding of those other 2 Aes Sedai
April 17, 2025 at 12:26 AM
The one with Moiraine & Sammael
April 16, 2025 at 10:46 PM
And it's going to hit soooo much harder when she does the thing
