Truly awful weather. Even the magpies are in hiding, lurking on my waste pipes away from the rain.
A brick house front. There are two waste pipes protruding slightly from the wall and on each of them there is a magpie perched, sheltering under the eaves from the incessant rain.

Scotland is just an example, this obviously applies much more widely.
A post by Dr Naomi Fisher which reads: Forty-three percent of children in Scotland are now identified as having some sort of additional learning need - the Scottish term for what is called special educational needs (SEN) in England. If 43% of children have needs which are not met in the mainstream education system, I think it's time to think about whether that mainstream system is fit for purpose.

I really do try not to buy new clothes but Lidl had a really quite pleasantly subtle Christmas hoodie for £7.99.

Some "traditional" (?!) pre-Christmas rituals in town today. The green and blacks are our local Border Morris side the OBJs; I didn't catch the name of the red and whites, which I'm sure was poor marketing on their part rather than me being old and deaf.
