Reddit text: There's also another scene where Loris told Vi about how he used to be an enforcer and fell in love with a street vendor from the Lanes. But the man he loved was killed on the Day of Ash and so Loris quit the Enforcers and let his grief consume him. Loris doesn't want Vi to make the same mistake he did - and waste her life. Alex wrote some really wonderful dialogue for Loris here that I would have loved to hear recorded.
