From the SF Chronicle: Photos obtained by the Chronicle show California National Guard troops deployed by the Trump administration to Los Angeles packed together in what appear to federal building basements or loading docks. The source who provided the photo said they redacted the name of one soldier that appeared in this photo. Source

I had a dental appointment coming up and called to update my insurance. They said they don't accept Medicaid. I have been unable to find one that does.

Sound weirdly familiar? Oh yeah, it's also a Nazi thing. It's how they dehumanized disabled people to such an extent that they could carry out Aktion T4 to murder 300,000 people via lethal injection and gas chamber with public in the lead up to the Holocaust. With full public knowledge.
Where have we heard this before? A black and white image of a German propaganda political cartoon shows different size bags increasing in size and with increasing money amounts on them. The caption says figure 36 depression government provides annually the following funds for a normal school child $125 RM, a slow learner, $573rm, the educable mentally ill 950 RM, and blind for deaf-born school children 1500 RM. The illustration depicts the burden of maintaining the socially unfit. From 1933 Where have we heard this before? In the 1930s German fascists launched a propaganda campaign about disabled people as "useless eaters" stealing resources from the deserving workers in art film and media. It was so successful, some people brought their loved ones to be euthanized voluntarily. By the late 30s, when a pair of murder cases use the victims' disability as justification with no public pushback, the Nazis knew people would accept their plan to mass murder the disabled. Under AktionT4 they killed 300,000 disabled adults and children by lethal injection and gas chamber.

Remember the seemingly random attack on ASL interpreters at emergency press briefings a couple weeks back? Same guys, same playbook used to stir up the base re: CRT, DEI and gender-affirming care.
Where have we seen this before? Screenshot of a quote tweet by Richard Hanania saying "the community note shows that the process has been captured by the disability lobby. It's not about access, CC Works fine. They have to pretend like it doesn't force this absurdity on to us. And the ADA Amendments of 2008 have led to a nightmare as I explained in my book." He's quoting a tweet by Christopher Rufo" I'm sorry but we have to stop with the ridiculous sign language interpreters who turn serious press conferences into a farce. There are closed captions on all broadcast channels and streaming services. No wild human gesticulators necessary." Community note reads: Fact: not all broadcast channels have closed captions which isn't universally effective anyway; many deaf rely on ASL for comprehension as ASL offers nuances captions miss. This is a part of ADA requirements passed by GOP. Where have we seen this before? This is a political strategy used by far a policy makers that has already been successful in anti-CRT, DEI, anti-trans campaigns and for book bans. Example: "trans people are groomers who try to harm children" or "trans people are cheating at women's sports!" eye roll. Influencers perpetuate the idea, it gets media attention, the base buys in. Legislators can pass laws against marginalized people without fear of repercussions framing it as a mandate from their voters as a way to take the resources back to those who deserve them. (Eg Save girl's sports! Eye roll)

Also want to say a bit about why things like removing accessibility page, ASL, and screen reading capabilities from the White House website matter. It feels performative, and it is. It's a coordinated effort to shift cultural norms.
Cultural shift strategy: the right floats an idea designed to stoke outrage ex "ASL interpreters are distracting and using up valuable resources meant for you, our base". Influencers perpetuate the IDEA, it gets media attention, the base buys in. Legislators can pass laws against marginalized people without fear of repercussions framing it as a mandate from their voters or a way to take the resources back to those who "deserve" them
