@idoubtitpodcast.bsky.social I was encouraged by @brittanyepage.bsky.social glowing praise for her Medicaid dentist. I lost my job and got Medicaid. I had a dental appointment coming up and called to update my insurance. They said they don't accept Medicaid. I have been unable to find one that does.

Ray Bradbury said, ‘You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.’ That’s where we are. But here’s the good news: WE STILL HAVE THE BOOKS. So read them, share them, and remind these book banners that their fear of ideas isn’t our problem—it’s theirs.
Sound weirdly familiar? Oh yeah, it's also a Nazi thing. It's how they dehumanized disabled people to such an extent that they could carry out Aktion T4 to murder 300,000 people via lethal injection and gas chamber with public in the lead up to the Holocaust. With full public knowledge.

Remember the seemingly random attack on ASL interpreters at emergency press briefings a couple weeks back? Same guys, same playbook used to stir up the base re: CRT, DEI and gender-affirming care.

Also want to say a bit about why things like removing accessibility page, ASL, and screen reading capabilities from the White House website matter. It feels performative, and it is. It's a coordinated effort to shift cultural norms.
