A healthy democracy requires informed voters. If people believe in lies, conspiracy theories, and/or are only fed one-sided information, then they are not in a position to make a wise voting decision. This problem corrupts democracies, and results in appalling leaders, such as Trump, being elected.

What bothers me is that our fates are heavily determined by people who are clearly unfit to be our leaders. I'm not just referring to politicians, but also to "influencers". Take Laura Loomer; despite being ignorant, dishonest, and malicious, millions of people listen to her giving her huge sway.

Elon Musk says he improved Twitter by making it a bastion of uncensored freedom of expression. First, he's quick to suppress opinions he doesn't like. Second, uncensored information can be very harmful. We need fact checking! It's not damaging to society. Claims that it is are Orwellian.
