If in fact these geese travel in squadrons of 8K to 10K, then I likely witnessed upwards of 40,000 total in an hour and a half period. There were four completely different waves that migrated through the marsh during my watch.

None of these are pixel perfect. Just sharing bc I'm a flatland Southerner who is left in complete awe when she experiences an event in nature such as this. I wanted y'all to enjoy, too, though vicariously.

Just now, I was reminiscing about the good old days, and I discovered my Canon AE-1 was on my shoulder in several of the photos my bff shared w/me recently. Of course, whole other rabbit hole. Yes, I've been a photog a long time, just new-ish to nature photography.

Louis Wildlife, the kayaking Maine Coon cat, has crossed the Rainbow bridge. I've followed his YouTube channel for a while and was quite fond of the story.
I hope he's still enjoying the waterways in pet heaven.
