If in fact these geese travel in squadrons of 8K to 10K, then I likely witnessed upwards of 40,000 total in an hour and a half period. There were four completely different waves that migrated through the marsh during my watch.

I, and another photog, had considered making plans to shoot the king tides as well, but decided neither of us was quite that adventurous. Maybe in December.
