The Inca created microclimates through agricultural engineering, most famously at the circular terraces of Moray, to experiment with crops. The differing depths, sun exposure, and wind patterns of these terraces created a range of temperatures, allowing the Incas to test how different crops grew at various altitudes and conditions, adapting their agriculture to the diverse climates across the empire.
