on forums you have to talk to annoying people every day and personally get to know some of the mods are pissbabies, but on social media nobody knows each other and the staff are millionaires so it's kind of a direct downgrade

i tried 1ccing it and it felt rly llike. fighting game influenced /neg to me. so much comboing and third strike parry homage and 1 bazilllion movement options and teching out of combos and i usually just felt like i messed up if i took damage

i think i rlly gravitate away from stuff that's doing an ugly on purpose thing

every time i praise the n64 a little too much someones like "so you think it's better than the ps1?" and i have to start apologizing

aesthetically you're basically measuring every single game studio of note in the 90s VS nintendo. so i feel like even ninty diehards would fold. tho i will say the texture work in majora's mask is rlly good... star fox 64, f zero x, kirby 64... it's arguably one of their best art direction eras

in general, i think the ps1 just has the sheer quantity of dev teams on there. i think it might be one of the most monopolizing of dev teams of any console ever, with its success so far beyond its 2 competitors. ps1 vs n64 is always gonna be hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby but the baby can cough tho

especially when third parties try to adapt to the console's weird hardware.... it's so cute
