last year, i played nights into dreams a few weeks before christmas, with the intent that i'd follow up and play christmas nights not too far afterwards
and then i completely forgot to on christmas day
and i was so stubborn i decided to wait till the next one, which is finally two days from now

i legit am always nostalgic for the childhood experience of starting a manga with whatever volume the store had in stock and having to piece together the plot and character relationships in media res lol
In general, it will strongly benefit you to experience art the "wrong" way from time to time. Watch a sequel first, read the funky scanlation, play the shitty port. See what you get out if it, and how that differs from what people normally get out of it.
