Report from downtown LA: very, very far from a “war zone.” Not even a piece of litter on the ground. It’s beautiful to see the city come together in solidarity.

Where it all started… felt surreal but really good to be back at Wesleyan after 10 years.

We did it!!! Perspectives Volume 52 (Cal State LA’s student history journal) (of which I was a co-editor in chief) is out in the world! 📖 Many, many hours spent editing & proofreading the great scholarship by my classmates. It’s all online at www.calstatela.edu/centers/pers... 🗃️

My copy of Toyon arrived. The artists & authors in this issue reject the destruction & genocida in Gaza. I’m glad I was able to add my voice to theirs. #freepalestine

My poem “Eulogy for a Dead Dream” was published today in Toyon Literary Magazine Volume 71: Dispatches from the Global Intifada. Honored to have my work included in this edition that speaks out against the horrors of the genocide happening in Palestine.

Last month I was at the Bancroft Library in Berkeley researching Rio de Janeiro through the eyes of US gold rush travelers. Got excited because it was my first time using microfilm. Anybody else take archive selfies? 😅 🗃️
