It's still one of these amazing things I think about sometimes. Rodents have this magic ability to surpass their limitations.

I watched him do it once. He'd start by pushing the door open as much as he could. Then he'd just sit there hitting the dog leash clip. It honestly took like an hour for everything to line up perfectly where the bar of the door would push through the little bit that he could open the clip.

But eventually we had to switch to little luggage locks because Percy figured out how to open the dog leash clips. So, I guess he was smart enough.

They were in a cage that had multiple levels and doors. To keep the doors shut we used those clips from dog leashes. It worked. The prairie dogs weren't smart enough or strong enough to open them.

You can put chocolate chips in there or walnuts or banana. Lots of options.
