the thing with FOSS projects is that if you piss your core community off by being petulant weirdos, then they will just fork the project out of spite & take over the direction of the entire tech architecture.

tbh i can tell when someone has limited experience in the FOSS space because they often treat the userbase as an annoying burden instead of building out mechanisms to make sure they have a seat at the table.

the internet is riddled with graveyards of FOSS projects that egotrip lowtaxed themselves.

I don't understand what their goal is. It seems to be this idea that they're going to develop behind the scenes tech that bluesky will be a part of a larger ecosystem of apps. Maybe I misunderstanding this but you have to make a good restaurant before you franchise
