Nuclear Banana Daiquiri

Using two bottles from the Lord Byron Distillery - "Fire Cane" overproof unaged rum, and falernum.

I'll be honest I don't think it does anything interesting, not in the way that a nuclear daiquiri does. A fun fruit daiquiri nevertheless.

Recipe in alt text.

Double Barrel Winchester, by Brian Miller

Usually described as a gin zombie, this is made with four different gins and packs a similar punch. It also swaps out the cinnamon syrup for ginger, which adds a lovely bite to it.

"Ultimate Mai Tai" by Kevin Crossman - @ultimatemaitai.bsky.social

This is the result of Kevin's efforts to find the perfect blend for the Mai Tai. He settled on Smith & Cross, Appleton 12, Plantation OFTD and Plantation Xaymaca in equal parts. Is it the best? Character limit won't let me answer.

Black Manhattan

2 oz rye whisky
1 oz Amaro Averna
1 dash orange bitters
1 dash Angostura bitters

Stir with ice, strain into a nick & nora. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

It's just a Manhattan with amaro in place of vermouth. Beautifully simple.

Excellent use of the yellow chartreuse.

Jasmine

1½ ounces gin
¼ ounce Cointreau
¼ ounce Campari
¾ ounce Lemon juice
Shake with cracked ice; strain into chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a lemon twist.

By Paul Harrington

I went with the original recipe. It's a bit tart. Could do with a touch of sugar.

Pink gin

Made with Hayman's old tom gin.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so I'm having this - definitely a medicinal cocktail.

New bottle:

Pusser's 151

Demerara river, Guyana

75.5% ABV

I'm pretty sure it's dosed? But they don't say. This is fine though I like it.

Daiquiri.

And new bottle:

Visited the Archie Rose distillery again today and came home with a bottle of the 2019 mill molasses rum from their "Trials & Exceptions". I like this one. If you'd like some indication of what it tastes like come over and try it I don't do tasting notes.
