I think it'd end up resembling more of a French Resistance scenario than it would Afghanistan, ie low intensity urban ambushes, assassinations, and acts of sabotage rather than a sustained insurgency

The problem here is that nearly the totality of Canadian infrastructure and population centers are concentrated along the border. It has a massive landmass for guerrillas to hide in but no means of sustaining such a force.

As interesting and exciting as Rojava and the YPG/YPJ were it was clear even a decade ago that this was always the likely outcome. There was no scenario wherein the US backed the Kurds over Turkey, and no scenario where Turkey allowed Ocalan's ideological descendants to succeed

There's just not an audience to cover the level of production. They'd need to eliminate teams and cut pay to be profitable unless they can get millions of more people to tune in

The military couldn't defeated the NVA, that pretty brutally suppressed the Viet Cong tho. That's why they've followed the Project Phoenix playbook in every conflict since.
