Not one, but TWO paroxysmal eruptive episodes at #Etna 's Northeast Crater on 27 December 2025, AND minor activity at the Voragine crater. Though the Northeast Crater has frequently shown minor activity in recent decades, its last paroxysmal episode was on 27-28 March 1998.

A closer look at the coronal mass ejection produced by last night’s major solar flare. Some models are predicting that the eruption may have a minor Earth-directed component! #spaceweather

A look at big sunspot region 4294 as it rotates into view on Saturday. The region is currently producing occasional M-Flares and is likely a threat for an isolated strong X-Flare.

Keep an eye on the sky tonight for the peak of Leonid meteors...also, the skies may stream with aurora once again. Massive sunspot region AR 4274 kicked off another X-class flare Friday. Here’s our post on what to expect for @universetoday.com - www.universetoday.com/articles/sun...
Sunday Night Doubleheader: Catch the 2025 Leonid Meteors and an Aurora Encore
Keep an eye on the sky Sunday night and early Monday morning for the Leonid meteors, and a possible second auroral storm. Once every other generation, the Lion roars. If skies are clear Monday morning...

The SOHO LASCO instrument is drowned in solar energetic particles due to the X5 flare earlier today Nov 11. A bit west of the disk center the particles are magnetically well connected to Earth. A massive #solarstorm was produced which we will model once initial conditions are available.

Resulting in a massive maximum total magnetic field of 63 nT, presumably the #solarstorm from Monday morning arrived 2025 Nov 11 23:38 at L1, and interacted with the previous storm just before it arrived at the L1 point near Earth. Dst reached - 238 nT, which is the 3rd strongest storm of this cycle

We just got an X5 flare from the same active region that launched the 2 #solarstorms earlier this week, at around 20 degrees north and west of disk center. We will again need to see whether a storm was launched with coronagraphs and then evaluate its potential arrival at Earth in the upcoming days.

A #solarstorm with an initial speed of ~730 km/s is on its way toward Earth! It’s associated with an X1.7-class flare that peaked today around 07:35 UTC.
The CME is expected to arrive Tuesday, 11 November, around 20:00 UTC (21:00 CET).
Let’s hope for a better aurora show than on Friday🤞🌌

☀️ Earth is currently experiencing a class G3 geomagnetic storm (likely caused by a #solarstorm flank hit), with Dst values going as low as -136 nT in the last 12 hours. Bz magnetic field component is currently positive, Dst values remain around -110 nT

I was worried for my crew mates when I saw them circling in the eye for over 20 mins. Looks like the very rough ride was confirmed. Plane had to leave early. They reported svr turb and a "sawtooth" eye. Looks like they moved 600-700ft up & down during this stretch in ~1 min.
