Migration is beautiful.
Over the last few years, the end of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern has come to mind a lot.

"There must have been a time, in the beginning, when we could have said – no. But somehow we missed it. Oh well, we'll know better next time."

There's also a setting for turning off reposts (as well as quote posts and replies) in the "Following" feed - go to Settings -> Content and media -> Following feed preferences.

It sounds great - the kind of context that makes the rest of the story come into much clearer focus. I ordered the book a few days ago, and am really looking forward to seeing all your findings!

The Riddles in the Dark scene was such a tantalizing glimpse of what the film(s) could have been - talented performers playing off each other, with the CGI being used to serve the story instead of overwhelming it.

During A Feast for Crows I thought Martin might be working up to having the Brotherhood Without Banners and the High Sparrow's movement establish some kind of proto-democracy (or at least set up a sort of legislature, that curtails the power of the nobles). That now seems unduly optimistic, though.

And what they don't see is the plates aren't the election, but the conditions of existence that will follow the election. There's no opt-out. Refusing to vote isn't saying "I will not eat from either of these plates," it's depriving yourself of a choice about how much awfulness you have to swallow.

Let people take liquids on planes again, there's no real reason to forbid it, but if you made him think the change was dangerous and irresponsible he'd be enthralled.

There are clips from Routh's audition that are so much better than the same scenes in the actual film (because Routh is speaking naturally, and not being subjected to the film's leaden pacing).

Adopting right-wing ideas to demonstrate the electoral unviability of right-wing ideas seems like poor strategy.
