Industrial biotech and enzymes @ Novonesis 🦠🔬. Solarpunk and cocktails from here on out 🎋🍹.
Looks like first-mover Norway took ~5 years to go from 80 to 20 %ICE sales. Very cool to see the amazing speed of these local EV transitions with cheaper Chinese options available www.reuters.com/business/aut...

Can’t believe the Farmer et al paper and your interview with Matt Ives was only 4 years ago. A lot is going on right now but solar and batteries have walked the walk since then - an amazing ride, and still picking up speed. Thank you Chris for bringing us all along with your podcast :)

Lol they had to double the Y-axis for the US to chart the ICE emissions

I’m interested in the long-term prospects for defossilizing the chemicals industry (including feedstocks), which promptly reared its head in the @laurimyllyvirta.bsky.social thread you had also linked to bsky.app/profile/laur...
Emissions from power generation, construction materials, transportation and steel all fell in January-September, but two major obstacles to emission reductions in China stand out: the chemical industry and lack of progress on switching to electric steelmaking.

@doynefarmer.bsky.social et al included electrolyzers as a “learning curve technology” in their 2022 paper, but with less data than eg batteries and wide uncertainty. What is Embers current outlook on electrolyzers and p2x within “electrify everything”? www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti....

I’ve wondered about that difference as well. If it’s mainly a political or economic thing…

Helt vanvittig ❤️🏀 - og sat i relief af LeBron siddende (på støttestol!) på sidelinien.
Og du havde jo haft fat i Luka, så helt glemt var han jo ikke 😀. bsky.app/profile/phil...

Under the circumstances, if America can hold on to democracy, and scale up affordable next-gen geothermal power at the same time, I’m not sure the rest of the world could ask for much more. Go America!

How did that go over 😬?
