MDJ: a space dedicated to amplifying voices, ideas, and actions for social justice, equality, and collective liberation.
Because the work isn’t just to heal our own family line.
It’s to plant seeds in every child we meet, so the benefits of our healing can grow far beyond our own homes. 🌿

If we have the capacity, let us be the gentle presence someone else’s child remembers.
The one who made them feel safe, seen, and valued. Even if only for a moment.

Healing is personal, but it is also communal.
The love and patience we practice in our homes can ripple outward into our classrooms, neighborhoods, and community spaces, reaching children who don’t live under our roofs.

For the ones starved of care before they even have a chance to ask for it.
For those who never get to know love without conditions. For those whose parents love them but are too distracted, too burdened, or too wounded to show it.

May we hold space in our hearts for the ones who don’t receive it.
For the children growing up in the shadow of unhealed parents, whose needs go unseen because survival consumes the home.

Apologies, I didn’t make it clear. He’s in the country he calls “home” but he’s being held in a Tennessee jail. His release was paused for 30 days due to ICE detainer concerns. His legal team is being very strategic.

Between the march and monument,
Between the prayer and protest sign,
Let’s choose the path where justice walks
And walk it, side by side, in time.

For freedom lives in daily acts.
In hands that lift, in voices raised.
It grows in kitchens, streets, and schools,
Where equity must be embraced.

No chain is truly broken down
Until none are left behind.
So hold the line, and pass the sound,
“Your freedom is tied up with mine.”

We must not wait for bells to toll
To find the courage we have lacked.
The time is not when hearts grow still,
But now, while hearts can still react.

Do not let the dream sleep in tombs
While injustice roams awake.
The march must echo through our rooms,
Each step a risk we’re brave to take.

We empower our children to speak up and stand strong while also guiding our communities through preparedness planning. Stay informed by following the Kansas Immigration Coalition page and share the knowledge with your communities. (2/3)
