I think it all comes back to this attention economy. Nuanced debate doesn’t sell and very few people want to question their assumptions. But, public policy is almost never a binary choice.

Among other things, this is what i take away from the music of the Grateful Dead. Life is full of feelings, many of them difficult, but love transcends time and space and darkness too. In other words, “winter gray and falling rain, we'll see summer come again.” Always and forever

What you say is true, but it’s important to remember there is even more to be happy and grateful about. IMO focus and intention is everything. It’s an extra challenge in today’s tech driven attention economy, but if we want to see it, all the beauty that ever was is still right here

As I pressed send on this I realized how important a few silly throwaway experiences like these really were and how much they are relevant today. Ecstatic art and joy activated like radiation therapy in America’s body to counteract the bleak disconnection of the Bush administration
