if you’ve ever watched the apprentice, that’s the world without arts or humanities degrees

Misread this as "attempting Peaky Burin" today, and thought you were trying out a bad Brummie accent in a vintage flat cap and tweed suit.

I still don't feel great, but that was lovely.

Not doing too well tonight. Hoping The Ballad Of Wallis Island will help.

First episode of the new Partridge is superb, thankfully.

We stumbled across this the other night and I thought it looked like shit - backgrounds looked like they'd been added digitally as an afterthought and maybe 75% of dialogue was ADR.

Still ended up watching it all (it was too late to give up and start a good film), but it's cinematic junk food.

YES! Everything's shit at the moment, this will be a very welcome beacon of joy. Thanks @johnrain.co.uk!

Just been to a circus so ramshackle I thought Batman was about to get a new partner.

That's gorgeous. Not quite the same, but I saw Divine Comedy do this live last week and don't think my bottom lip has stopped wobbling since...

Amazing to think that somewhere in the world right now, either online or in person, there'll be a film bro describing that tracking shot in Wings as "ahead of its time."

50 years since Dog Day Afternoon was released! This feature was one of the first submissions to my silly little film site, and I love it so much...

A shitty week, the shittiest weather, but a delightful hour spent in the company of The Divine Comedy in one of my favourite venues today.

Really enjoyed this one, a very pleasant surprise. Can't say it needs a sequel, but will probably watch and enjoy that too!

Brand new on Dirty Feed: to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fawlty Towers, here's a look at all the various parodies of the show over the years.

Seeing them tomorrow at my favourite venue and can't wait.

You could trace the shape of mainstream American cinema over the past 60 years purely by watching Robert Redford films. A new presence in a dying form, the beautiful face of on-screen cynicism, through gently bloated star films to the dawn of the modern superhero.

Reading about the making of The Blues Brothers and this section stopped me cold.

John Landis and helicopters, eh?
Extract from a book outlining reckless behaviour from John Landis while filming with a helicopter.
