My mum is terrified so I spent my childhood being told to ‘come back from the edge’ ‘be careful because there’s a drop’ but I love heights and I love adrenaline. I felt so brave booking a flying lesson. It is so strange to break the rules your parents gave you as a child ☺️
laurahamilton.bsky.social
We forced the children to walk and explored the local 37arched viaduct. My husband still denies his train went over this for years when he commuted…. Yes this suddenly appeared…

I can STRONGLY recommend flying lessons if you aren’t scared of heights and like butterflies in your tummy… I took off and landed and even tried barrel rolls over the Isle of Wight but the wings said no… anyone out there have their Pilots License? 🛫

Bosh the edge of the lid on something hard to break the seal… or go for a little walk with it and make some random person feel like a superhero for helping you!

Just filmed the intro to @collegeofsurgeons.bsky.social Code of Conduct training. Tackling high levels of sexual misconduct in surgery. Unfortunately I discovered I am incapable of speaking even simple words with a camera pointed at my face. So sad to learn I will not be a late blooming film star 🤐
I’m sat in the park learning my lines. I’m wrote it and memorised everything. Unfortunately the words would not come out of my mouth once a camera was pointed at my face. I lost the ability to say ‘prevalence’ and also ‘individual’ amongst other things…

The 2021 Australian census shows that single parents are 79.8% women and 20.2% men. So a proposal that babies are given their mothers surname by default (other options as a choice) might actually make administrative and practical sense. Thoughts? 🤔

I love the thought process but this is the one ligament injury that wouldn’t help! Hypermobility to squeeze the wrist is a definite pro… most important skill for getting out of handcuffs is I guess being white, female, smiley, rich, friendly - anything else?!

Ok I received this comment and tried not to 🤯… it’s been hundreds of years of white men, particularly in @collegeofsurgeons.bsky.social leading the way, but evidence shows diversity improves innovation and outcomes. Any tips on how to handle this #notmyson comment?! #notallmen #diversity
Someone said I was being mean by celebrating exclusion of white men from photos.

Really fun day @collegeofsurgeons.bsky.social hosting Future Surgeons. We support every medical school surgical society in their training, events and career progression. Funny highlight was doing a little ‘no white males’ photo in front of the old school portrait 🧐😳 💪🏽🥳@hunterianmuseum.bsky.social
Medical students leaders who are female, black, brown or oriental in front of an old portrait of surgeons who are all very white old men. Diversity is brilliant for everyone and is the future of surgery.

New data from the GMC shows that for the first time there are now more female than male doctors with a licence to practise in the UK. This is a fantastic achievement and has taken 150 years to reach after women were first allowed to become medical students.

As someone in the UK watching the unhinged Trump show, I am so confused about why the Dems aren’t jumping up and down on the dumpster fire he has created. Has Kamala said anything atall since she lost? Shouldn’t she be front and centre deconstructing every lie he says? How is this chaos unchecked?
