I'm personally especially excited for the keynote by Dr. Desiree Dickerson. 🎉

When everything feels like an opportunity, a priority, or an obligation, how do we say no? We'll unpack why we tend to say yes & how to start saying no! 🔥

The more discnerable sound cues got (i.e., with stronger sound lateralization), the influence of odorant-stimulation decreased.
April 25, 2024 at 2:36 PM
Behaviorally, at central sound positions (= auditory cues maximally ambiguous), participants were more likely to categorize a sound as coming from the right with concurrent right-nostril stimulation, while the proportion of left-responses increased with left-nostril stimulation.
April 25, 2024 at 2:34 PM
Then, participants completed a dynamic sound localization paradigm with repeated sequences of 8 sounds. After each sound, they made a left vs. right judgment about the sound position. In the first half of the sequence, we concurrently stimulated their left, right or both nostrils

7/ We also investigated modulations of oscillatory power. During (late) encoding & maintenance, the results seem in-line with the notion that α oscillations serve to gate information flow, allowing for the re-distribution of attentional resources between modalities depending on their task-relevance.
April 17, 2024 at 4:13 PM
6/ In contrast, ERP results (SAN) do not show any evidence for the active maintenance of task-irrelevant features (BF10 = 0.16). On a cautionary note, we can only make this claim for task-irrelevant auditory features, but not visual features – as there was no sign. load-modulation of NSW amplitudes.
April 17, 2024 at 4:03 PM
5/ Our behavioral results show that task-irrelevant features still interfered with performance, suggesting that they were automatically encoded and potentially bound to the task-relevant feature.
April 17, 2024 at 3:57 PM
3/ Our goal: To investigate AV object storage, we aimed to resolve those issues. In a AV delayed-match-to-sample-paradigm, AV features were always presented at the same time & location, promoting automatic cross-modal binding. Importantly, the probe stimulus was always AV as well.
