I hear you. And frankly I think most of what people know about my work has been in the digital realm anyway. I guess that there IS however something good about the process of peer review. My writing and argumentation was sharper after that process.

yes I see, and I am glad to hear that there is still hope for a way forward at the university. Since I am not formally a university insider, and have had a hard time finding footing there for many reasons, I don't see the inroads you do. So we don't have to have a scorched earth approach; but I do

impatient. I just want scholars to take the steps they can before we loose our scholarly communities (and domain knowledge) for good.

what it means to teach it, learn it, and add to what we already know. So I don't like the feeling of helplessness, and want scholars to find a way to come together outside of the universities (or even to use them to our own benefit instead of the other way around). I hope I am not needlessly
