What we’re finding out during the Trump presidency is that while lying & misleading people is great for getting elected in America today, it’s a comically bad way to govern. Science doesn’t care about your feelings, neither does reality. The Trump Show will have disastrous outcomes for all of us.

Without enough Federal Air Traffic Controllers, flights in smaller cities will be canceled. Burbank California already had to close down because of a lack of controllers. That’s why Trump had to end the last shut down. People can’t work without pay for more than a paycheck or two.

Political appointees used to be normal but as the Fed bureaucracy got larger, we realized that having career bureaucrats was better. Federal workers became better at their jobs because they weren’t fired every 4 years. Trump & Voight want a smaller bureaucracy w/ workers who can easily be fired.

I think it’s because it’s too horrifying for people to truly grapple with so they dismiss it with excuses like “it happened a long time ago,” or “14 is young but they weren’t actually children.”

And now news has come out that the victims who were rounded up with their children and then eventually released by ICE because their papers were in order returned home to find the apartment building boarded up & all their possessions gone. These are poor people who had done nothing wrong.

Yes! This story really needs to blow up. It has everything. Trump steals $20 billion of our tax money to give to his friend. He’s putting Argentina’s people ahead of our own. He wouldn’t give a dime to UNICEF! but 1 venture capitalist gets loads of cash from us to protect his investment.

The emoluments clause does not apply to people who are not in the government. Clinton can accept all the gifts he wants because he has no say in how the US responds to other nations. Trump, OTOH, is president with all the power of the office to make deals.

I can tell you black beans were around $0.99 a can 2 years ago with store brand beans on sale for $0.49. Wegman’s (in NC) store brand today is $0.79 and Goya (imported) are $1.49. An increase of 50%.

First you have to come up with a legal charge that could apply, then you have to convince a grand jury that the influencer has broken that specific law. The sandwich-as-a-lethal-weapon argument failed to get past a grand jury so it’s not outrageous to think this would also fail.

Because he uses the word “rolls,” I suspect he mixed up health insurance with voting. There is no insurance company that’s going to kick people off the insurance because they didn’t see a doctor but states do purge people from the voter rolls if they haven’t voted in a specific number of elections.

The more I try to figure out what he’s saying, the more it sounds like gibberish. Lots of comments about the “people who didn’t know” but I am really confused about the “off the rolls..” part. It’s not like voting rolls where states remove people who haven’t voted in a certain number of elections.

It sounds like he mixed up health insurance & voting rolls. Health insurance companies don’t “remove you from the rolls” if you don’t put in any claims. This isn’t a use it or lose it situation. The insurance companies will happily take your money even if you never go to the doctor.
