I just looked at my 2025 calendar and discovered that Inauguration Day, January 20th, falls on the Monday we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday. What an ironic confluence of these dates. I will be marking the day giving thanks to God for the too short life of the great civil rights leader.

After some Costco shareholders asked the company to end its DEI policies, this was their response: “Our board has considered this proposal and believes that our commitment to an enterprise rooted in respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary."
