Issue but I think it’s important to be transparent about how this isn’t always a rosy “break” or “fun new chapter,” but a terrifying drift from shore with no safety net. We need more honest narratives about this, and so I’m being truthful here, and I’ll continue to. I am working on a few projects

Of a parent who died last year - and another who has cancer - is also. That 24/7 started to look like 48/7 and the math just wasn’t mathing. I am one of the net almost 400,000 moms of young kids who left the workforce this year, and it feels … awful. I have longform content coming about this thorny

Yep! Don’t stand OR lie back down. Limit 5min. Re: food, I work out fasted because I get nauseous otherwise but depending on your routine and fuel needs you can fuel before! I used to do a banana or a half bagel. I basically chug cold water, drink electrolytes while working out, and then eat tho.

When your alarm goes off. I also chug a small glass of water. Much harder to fall back asleep at that point. But it’s the best thing I’ve ever done! You can do it, I’m not even very tough

So many but the biggest is just commit to it sucking for 3 weeks. There’s a bit of a flywheel where you have to be up early to be tired early enough to get sufficient sleep to do it again. It gets a lot easier. Also, I always lay out my clothes, water bottle, everything. Final tip: sit up in bed
