Zelensky doubts Putin's economy can sustain the war at previous levels if sanctions hold. Responding to journalists, he said Putin doesn’t want to end the war, but whether he can keep it going depends on continued pressure from Ukraine’s partners.

With more instances of Donald Trump appearing fatigued or forgetful, Americans are again seeing evidence of a president who lacks the energy to do his demanding job, @dgraham.bsky.social argues.

If you think Trump's march to authoritarian power is unstoppable - or already a fait accompli - just note how panicked and weak he was tonight and he wheedled and whined about nothing is his fault.

That's not a man who thinks he's winning.

For 20 minutes, Americans watched Donald Trump address the nation, “drenched in pure panic as he tried to bully an entire nation into admitting he’s doing a great job,” @radiofreetom.bsky.social argues:

Bcuz I come from MAGA, I still engage with Trump supporters every day. What have they told me this week? A surprising number didn’t like his horrible response to Rob Reiner’s killing. One die hard Trumper even told me she was done with him. Check it out.👇 open.substack.com/pub/socialco...

No. Some reports are emerging that Wiles and others think he screwed the pooch the last time out trying to explain his successes, and so he decided to try again.

I hope he tries another few dozen times between now and the midterms.
Besides from damage control of his image by promoting his ‘achievements’ and attempting to gaslight people into believing everything is fine, do you think the timing of the address was such to detract from talk about Jack Smith’s appearance (even though it was closed door)?

Absolutely not. As I said in the piece, I am a connoisseur of Trump speeches, and I think he dictated big chunks of this himself.
It felt to me that he was shouting a script written entirely by Stephen Miller.

When he lies and says he won the 2020 election, his voters believe him. When he lies and says Haitian migrants are eating cats & dogs, his voters believe him. But when he lies and says the economy is great, his voters don’t believe him bcuz his voters live the economy every day.

So many people I know are getting involved, running for offices high and low, fighting to restore sanity and competence. Look at @bethmacy.bsky.social running for congress in VA, and now a friend in Ohio has just informed me he's running for a county commissioner seat.

It's surprising that you, as Americans, elected him as President not just once, but twice, especially considering the challenges faced during his first term. This situation highlights the vulnerability many individuals have to misinformation.
