Scammers target Gazans.
Think about how much time and effort it would take to fake being in Gaza. Feasibility aside, would the payout be worth it?
I don't think so.
Scammers want quick, easy money.
It is much quicker and much easier to try to extract money from people who are already desperate.

This one is pretty crude but I’ve seen ones that are more sophisticated. But what you should note is they aren’t trying to scam people who want to donate to GFMs they are trying to scam Gazans.
