Running for Governor to build a movement for a Georgia we can afford 🍑 | Primary: May 19, 2026 | Run-off: June 16, 2026 | HQ: @ruwaforgeorgia.bsky.social

I joined Greg Bluestein on Politically Georgia where we talked about how our campaign was centering affordability well before it became the new trend. And what a winning strategy looks like.

(Hint: it’s not running an ex-Republican because we actually lose more of our own when we do so).

Georgia needs a leader who will be honest about who is the cause of the challenges we face and who can mobilize a movement to deliver results.

Thanks to @rpaynereport.bsky.social at Salon for highlighting why this race matters and why change is overdue.

My first speech as a gubernatorial candidate was at UNITE HERE Local 23 because unions are one of the most effective ways to fight corporate greed and special interests.

Everyone deserves a fair chance against policies that leave us behind.

I want to add some nuance to this. We need to be mobilizing in every corner of the state, and I’m grateful candidates step up to give those voters a choice. Candidates should leverage what they raise for year round organizing. But raising 10+ million to burn on ads and consultants ain’t it.
Hello my fellow Americans of good conscience. Longtime Georgia Democrat here.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's district is uber-conservative.

Please don't be sucked in by grifter "Democrats" asking for money and claiming they're going to be able to win that seat.

When SNAP benefits were disrupted, our volunteers mobilized to support their local food banks and distribution locations.

So here’s the deal, my voice is still gone which means I can’t do call time and we’re already behind. So, let’s do an AMA. I’ll answer questions until the evening but I’ve got some asks for y’all too!

Statement on MTG’s Resignation: The Republican Party is in such shambles their number 1 fundraiser quit because even she knows they’re beyond saving. As MTG said, Republicans promised to bring prices down but instead refused to do their jobs. 1/

Today is a really bad for all the Republican consultants who’d prepped so much anti Zohran and anti-Muslim content. They were *just* starting their Mamdani Democrat circuit.

We’re hearing helicopters and word is spreading of massive ICE raids tomorrow and Friday particularly in Gwinnett. These excessive raids put all of us in danger. Spread the word, look out for each other, and remember your rights.

This is why it’s so important to not give into Republican framing! These things are interconnected. Republicans keep offering tax cuts as solutions leading to more expensive, and at times deadly, consequences all while making the rich and powerful richer and more powerful.

The government shutdown may be over, but many families are still recovering and too many are struggling to put food on the table.

If you or someone you know needs support, you can look up nearby food banks (or donate if you’re able): bit.ly/gafooddropoff

It's been a while since we've written, but that's because we have been all over the state. From Augusta to Savannah to Cumming to Decatur!

There’s some amazing local coffee shops that pay their workers well and invest directly in our communities. Today is a really great day to support them!
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Today as we honor veterans we must ensure we go past words. My county, Gwinnett, has the largest population of veterans. Veterans also account for 6.4% of small business owners in our state. Yet too often, they cannot access the benefits they earned because of systems we’ve underfunded. 1/

The Trump administration is using government resources to argue before the highest court of the land that they shouldn’t have to feed hungry people. They’d rather Americans starve than just follow the law.
NEW: Trump admin goes to SCOTUS to try and stop order that it pay full SNAP benefits this month

DOJ asks the justices for an order by 9:30 p.m. Friday — as USDA was in the middle of completing its process for making full payments, under a court order to finish Friday.

We’ve been told for too long that Georgia isn’t ready. That we don’t belong. That change isn’t possible here.

But on Tuesday we proved otherwise, and next year we’ll do the same!

Seeing a debate brewing on how long ACA subsidies should be extended which is an absurd position. As I’ve said weeks ago, why are we negotiating healthcare? There’s no end date to a potential health emergency that risks bankrupting a family.
Thank you to Victor Blackwell for having me on First of All to discuss the shutdown and its impact on Georgians. Healthcare is not a debate. It’s a life saving necessity. #GovernmentShutdown
November 7, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Furloughed workers and their families are struggling to make ends meet. Millions are at risk of losing healthcare. Yet this what Republicans are prioritizing. Hateful and shameful.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court granted the Trump administration's request to enforce its discriminatory passport policy while our lawsuit makes its way through the courts.

This decision undermines the freedom of transgender, non-binary, and intersex people to have our IDs reflect who we are.
