Hi everyone,

We're going to need some help again. If you follow me on social media, you probably know I've been going through a mental health crisis for a while. I've been getting more intensive treatment for it, which has included the discovery that I suffer from psychotic symptoms that have gone undetected for many years.

Thankfully, the new treatment seems to be helping, but slowly. In the meantime, I've been almost completely unable to work for close to two months. My partner, a teacher, has also been out of steady work for the summer, which means our income has become a trickle.

Your generosity, including the kindness of one particular recent donor, have been all that have gotten us through the past few months. But since I'm our primary income and I've been so out of commission, I still barely have enough for this month's rent and am worried about the interim until our income picks back up.

I'm hopeful that I'll be more functional soon, but mental illness can be unpredictable and it wasn't exactly easy getting by before things got so bad. So everything is all extra scary at the moment.

My partner and I appreciate any help you may feel able to give, as always. We're so thankful for all of you and your kindness that has made safety and recovery possible.

Probably why I'm an atheist now, but I never bought the idea that being baptised into the "right" religion made you more worthy of salvation than acting as a good and righteous person (the crux of my mother's and I argument on Pascal's wager: i think actions should matter more than belief)
