Abel Ruiz was the main striker during the Olympics while Sergio Gómez played as a winger (left or at times right winger)

He's been decent, played as LB for majority of games but think his best performances have come when he has played higher up as wide midfielder/winger and has the freedom to move centrally and cause dilemma for teams.

They've been good when pressing more than breaking down teams evident in this season and the - so their performances or results have been better vs the top half teams than bottom half teams (low blocks).

Think they've not successfully replaced some individuals & the tactics hasn't helped as well.

TBH, i preferred him as an #8 roaming between the lines but it seems he will likely end up as #6 given how much mins and experience he is accumulating from playing there with both the U21s and Atleti, maybe with the NT too.

Think the biggest positives have been playing so good tonight without both, think Barrios has helped and the shape we used post world cup when we cage oppositions in their half with far side FBs inverting etc all in all much improvement with the ball.

Crazy man. I was thinking how it could have been more fun had;

2. Benin taken their chances against Nigeria and had beaten them...
