I didn't expect this. Reshaping the artifact doesn't let you change the sub-stats, but it does re-roll the base amount (so a low roll might become a high roll, or vice versa... a high roll becoming a low roll)

Yesterday: basted the waistband, did a first fitting, and took out an extra 8.5cm. Rebasted the waistband and attempted to put the zipper in 3 times(!!) but the front & side seams aren't the same length, and it turns out that's part of the design for this skirt (thanks, Axes Femme!)

Replacing the elastic part of my skirt's waistband (it's slightly over half elastic). Rather than putting in a piece of elastic and then having to do this again in 10 years' time, I think I'm going to shorten the waistband to my size & add a zipper and buttons to close.
The underside of the inside of the skirt waistband, where a strip of elastic is sewn to the waistband with elastic thread All stitches removed from the elastic part of the waistband, separating the skirt and the underskirt from the waistband. The shiny fabric facing up here is the underskirt. The gathers from the elastic can still be seen on the waistband. Wetting the waistband with hot water and pressing it with a wooden block (I don't have an iron yet) to straighten it out. Gathering the skirt where the elastic used to be to match the new waistband size
