Ubisoft remains the worst, shocker!

I would advise not buying their games. I haven’t since 2020, it’s surprisingly easy to do!!

Ubisoft is one of the most anti-art video game companies in existence and I think buying their slop makes you subjectively a bad person to me personally.

But then again if the two are entirely entwined for you then it doesn’t matter in the slightest anyway. I find they usually overlap for me but there is wiggle room where they can differ. For most people something having enough content for the money they paid can dominate.

Right yeah, and I do agree, but I think most people don’t think like that, they see what are critiques as nitpicks because it’s still worth the money they paid. Which puts the viewer at a disconnect from the creator in my experience.

I think people also forget you are usually providing a critique, not a traditional review. “Is the game worth your time and money?” isn’t the same as “how does the game function competently as art?” Sometimes they overlap, but I think commenters often get the two twisted far too often.

Overall though, I’m having lots of fun. Yet to be seen if the story pans out well, but from a structural, explorative and mechanical experience, it develops mostly only in good ways. (Extra frog pic because I thought he looked quite stoic)

Only 15 hours in but I feel Yotei remedies so many issues I had with Tsushima, while at the same time creates other “problems”. I also think it often compromises on its artistic vision for the sake of convenience or engagement, at the cost of important V I B E S. Will be interesting to write about!

Revisiting Ghost of Tsushima was kinda essential for me because it reminded me of why I truly loved so much of it back in 2020, but also the glaring flaws in it's design that I deeply hope Yotei can address.

I cannot lie, I’ve been in a bit of a rut recently, feeling super down. Kinda been craving a Kingdom Hearts replay to lift my spirits, though I’ve been holding off until we have a KH4 release date so I can lock into streams… having quite a predicament.

It's really funny how historically inaccurate Ghost of Tsushima is, like it's not even close to reality at all, yet despite that remains grounded and immersive. It's almost as if Assassin's Creed's problem is giant mythical beasts and magical powers rather than a lack of strict adherence to history.
