As painful and unfair as it is to many blameless people, this government shutdown is necessary. The ending of ACA subsidies is as well.
Why?
Because to move people beyond keyboard activism requires pain. We've allowed our empathy to make us easily goaded into supporting conservative wish lists. 1/

This is monstrous, and the judge has a clear path forward. She must place a restraining order preventing any payments from the federal government for any deportees sent to this Salvadoran supermax. Money is all they will understand.
