I love the way you described that and SAME. 100%. I get how important it is, it just feels like trying to sweep every little crumb into a dust pan; always a fraction more left, never done. Ugh.

P.S. If a relationship you wrote is a desperate disaster you worked so hard on but can't salvage... Good. Let that shit burn spectacularly, then say you did that on purpose. Real relationships go up in flames too, and readers love drama! It's ok to destroy your creations, I promise.

The democratic party is trying SO hard to be that protagonist that has EVERYTHING handed/explained/etc. to them and they STILL mess everything up on purpose. 🤦 The protagonist that makes readers throw the book at the wall.

This was pretty much the entire premise I wrote my book on. 🤣 Lots of pearl-clutching over being legally required to respect all people, leading to a cult of "not in our town" insanity.

Exactly! The character was in no way unrealistic, but even someone considered "liberal" couldn't accept the idea of someone having two different ethnicities that weren't stereotypically associated with each other. 🤦

This reminded me of a radicalization moment I had.
I was telling a liberal friend about a Jewish-Vietnamese American character I was writing. She said "Jewish AND Vietnamese? Isn't that a bit much, like unrealistic? lol"
It changed me. I now write any "unrealistic" character I damn well please.

I had NO idea the filters were so complex/strong. Thanks for sharing! I set everything to "warn" so now I get to wait and see what they consider to be harmful. 😆

And, I have to say, sex is NOT a biological constant/singularity. So it would be *hysterical* to see them with made-up charts about which chromosomes/etc. mean what sex. If you get sad, just picture that chaos.
