I would have taken a photo of the event but both my camera battery and my back-up bat were dead as door nails. Say duhh! I have been neglecting my photogrpahy in 2025 but this will change!

On December 24, 1944, the troopship SS Leopoldville was torpedoed and sunk near Cherbourg, resulting in the death of 763 US soldiers and 15 of the ship's officers.
