Hello WxBlsky community. Please consider posting to at least one other platform because you are not able to reach everyone that you could a couple months ago. Bluesky is blocked in my state (Mississippi) now after a new privacy law went into effect. I am only on it now because I am traveling. Thanks

Yikes, this is sad.
For clarification, it's *proposed* cuts, and many programs on the list have been on the chopping block before but ended up getting saved. Yay clickbait journalism. Still never good to see even that though. www.dailynebraskan.com/news/breakin...

Lutnick’s characterization of NWS as “fully staffed” is a flat-out lie. We need to call it what it is.
I've put together my thoughts and perspectives from my 35 yrs of NOAA on this comment and other discussions that came up in Sec. Lutnick's last couple of days on Capitol Hill. I remain very concerned for NOAA, OAR and NWS both short term and long term.

Canceling NOAA NCEP’s and ROC’s leases suddenly is worse than inadvisable. Many of their buildings were custom built for them, their supercomputers, servers, and specific operations. You can’t just move them into a WeWork.
