but i spoke w my therapist about starting EMDR therapy next year (she's a certified EMDR therapist and very passionate about it!) and im really hopeful and excited that it'll do a lot at helping me recover from my cptsd/trauma and lifelong anxiety

idk about u but 40hrs a week being enough to afford a house is a lot diff than 40hrs a week to afford a pack of ramen. people would want to work if it actually supported living. instead its more like, wo work u have free time and no food, w/ work u have no free time and still no food

not that potatoes are expensive but the time to make homemade mashed potatoes was just not something my parents could afford unless they were off work for the holidays LMAO so it was always a special occasion thing. otherwise, it was whatever could be made quicker and last longer in the pantry
