The site of the 'Petite Marquise' in #Echternach, where structures dated to the 10/11th c. were discovered in 2020, is now covered with panels tracing the town's medieval history & showing some of the archaeological finds. Hopefully, we'll hear more about the preservation project 'Epternacum' soon.

Back in the office after a very busy #IMC2025. It was great to see so many friends & colleagues (again), too many to tag here! My book haul's v. modest but no less satisfactory. Many thanks to @drdragases.bsky.social for providing me w. a copy of his new book on Clovis. Time to brush up on my Dutch!

Wie kann eine neue, an aktuellen Forschungsergebnissen orientierte Wissenschaftskommunikation zum Thema "Germanen" heute aussehen und gelingen? Zu diesem Thema wird Karl Bangard (Freilichtmuseum Oerlinghausen) am 2. Juli in unserer Reihe der "Heidelberger Vorträge zur Landesgeschichte" sprechen.
