Don’t know why I did this or who it’s for but it’s everyone’s problem now

And here is the finished product. Pretty happy with it, the eyes are maybe a little too cartoony but I sort of dig it

really and truly, I believe that the entire mouse functionality of the Switch 2 Joy-Cons was implemented just so we could finally get an official North American release of MARIO & WARIO

Y'know, when people have asked me about my dream game, I've always said a runaway slave + Underground Railroad project or something set in or around the Haitian Revolution.

Someone somewhere is already taking this on and infusing the work with all the courage that the subject matter deserves.

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

Company leadership deemed the project too controversial for the moment, sources tell Game File

Detroit. Tigers. Buddies. I’m proud of you.

You realize you can score this many runs EVERY game, right? Not just when you’re facing elimination?

(I would also submit the novel was not as good as the original novel so it's not like they botched great source material necessarily)

okay see now I'm listening

I should pitch an unhinged panel sometime about how Kpop Demon Hunters is the 21st Century successor to Revolution X
learnonaut.bsky.social
I watched it not that long ago. It's still kind of bad but there are moments that are still good.

(Everything from when the T-Rex hits the mainland on sucks though and it's pretty clear why Crichton didn't go that way with it)
learnonaut.bsky.social
I think at the very least it fares better as a franchise based on a Spielberg classic than, say, JAWS did
learnonaut.bsky.social
that being said I am never not going to laugh at D'Onfrio's villain monologue being cut off mid sentence when he sees a velociraptor
learnonaut.bsky.social
Okay, I put it together really quick because I hadn't already, this is my JURASSIC sicko list letterboxd.com/learnonaut/l...
learnonaut.bsky.social
Yeah a lot of World's issues come from the fact they really had some great ideas but focused more on the Pratt of it all
learnonaut.bsky.social
but I'll still watch it, it's still watchable, it's just not good. It's the worst of the lot but I won't skip it when I inevitably revisit the whole franchise again
learnonaut.bsky.social
also I really, REALLY loved the idea of dinosaurs coming into the "human" world that the last couple movies have worked with, and the opening to REBIRTH was absolutely heartbreaking because of course that's how it's gonna go down
learnonaut.bsky.social
Exactly. It's never hitting the heights of the original again but they are reliable experiences, you're gonna have a good time most likely
learnonaut.bsky.social
TBH that one I watched mostly because I liked the cast and less because it was a Ghostbusters, I was there for McCarthy and McKinnon, not proton traps or whatever
learnonaut.bsky.social
listen I am not going to say "I appreciate the Jurassic franchise on a deeper level than you" but it is clear who actually read the books and thought through the point they were making and who hasn't
learnonaut.bsky.social
Hell I liked DOMINION and REBIRTH because the plots *were* so petty and plausible. Of course they're going to create a genetically engineered locust that will destroy all competitor's crops! Of COURSE some pharma bro would finance an expendable expedition to corner the market on heart medication!
learnonaut.bsky.social
Even GB2016, the one I liked most of the follow-ups, was too reverential even though it was conceptually much closer to the original by also being a bunch of SNL folks goofing around with special effects
learnonaut.bsky.social
We're going to make the first AI-powered dinosaur park
learnonaut.bsky.social
Also I should note that when I say "bad" I mean "unwatchable", obviously LOST WORLD is a bad movie but I still like it and watch it every so often
