Hello new followers! I'm Kevin, game historian, science communicator, and fighting games old head. My history focus is on the early days of gaming history in particular, so I want to plug some of my work: first and foremost with my book, for sale through Limited Run (and on Amazon in paperback).

Well I may have another update finished up tonight so stay tuned! Of course, when I finally get to Stellar Track it would probably behoove me to finish that page I half-started about the 70s Star Trek game, huh

The blog continues its updates, as Bob Whitehead's Boxing gets its time in the spotlight. Unassuming but a blast to play, particularly if you're using the original joysticks and want to experience actual exhaustion in your boxing match. www.atariarchive.org/blog/boxing-...

They seem genuinely convinced a future administration (or even individual states) will not go after them, and while I’ll grant historically that’s been the case I’m not sure with the degree of stuff they’re doing that I would be so nonchalant about it

In my excitement over the Protomen Act III album finally coming out, I dug up my photos from when they performed at the Painted Lady in Hamtramck, MI back in Feb 2008! It was so cold their equipment froze on the bus and kept malfunctioning. Wild to have followed them early on to where they are now.

Oh hell yeah I took some photos of the show (also it was 2008, I had my dates mixed up)

One thing about American's widespread distrust and disapproval of the Supreme Court is that mainstream news coverage mostly doesn't dwell on stuff like standing, so people don't even begin to grasp how rigged the Court truly is www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10...

It's not game-related, but the Babylon 5 Interactive Information Kit has been preserved. This is a Windows 3.1 multimedia floppy sent to TV stations around 1994 to help promote the show, and it's a fun time capsule of computer materials (and the show) at the time: youtu.be/IYDy3pnvqxU?...

The announcement of Act 3 reminded me of seeing the band for the first time in February 2007 in a dingy little bar in Hamtramck, where it had been so cold outside that their gear froze in the bus and didn’t quite work right. Still put on a kickass show for the 20-30 people who came out for them.

Out of the 142 people I've formally interviewed, at least ten have passed away since I started. If you ever need a motivation to reach out - let it be that!
